About us

A small studio building communities across the globe.

Since 2006, Freeze Tag has been turning ideas into reality as an early innovator in the mobile gaming industry. After Munzee, Inc. joined the company in 2017, we made location-based gaming our whole world, and we've been exploring it ever since.

Today, 13 people across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Portugal run 5 games played by people around the globe. Our goal is simple: bring people together to play, explore, and discover the world around them.

Every once in a while, she is involved in designing the events and attributes needed for analytics reporting for new apps.

His technical work primarily focuses on PHP and MySQL, allowing him to work directly with the systems behind the products you know and love.

When not working, Robbie can usually be found spending time with family, playing games with friends, throwing plastic at one of his local disc golf courses, or tending to his never-ending list of yard priorities.

Craig Michell

Craig Michell

Gameplay team member, podcast and video lead

Team member since 2025 Originally Australia, now Alabama, USA

Craig Michell’s Munzee journey began in 2015, when he discovered the game in Australia. What started as a fun outdoor activity quickly became much more meaningful. During a difficult period in his life, Munzee gave Craig a reason to get outside, enjoy the sunshine and fresh air, explore new places, and connect with people. It became an important part of his journey through PTSD and helped give him something positive to focus on.

In 2021, Craig moved from Australia to the United States. His Munzee adventure continued, and at an event he had the opportunity to meet Munzee President Rob Vardeman. Craig shared some ideas about the game and its community, beginning a relationship that would eventually lead to something much bigger.

In 2025, Craig officially joined the Munzee team as a game tester and became involved with the podcast social media team. What began as helping behind the scenes quickly grew into a much larger role. Craig now serves as Munzee’s Podcast Communications Lead, contributing to gameplay development and testing while also helping lead the communications, podcast, video, and audio side of the community.

Craig has been part of producing and publishing the Munzee Podcast every week since 2024, working behind the scenes on recording, editing, sound, video, social media, and promotion.

From discovering Munzee as a player in Australia to becoming part of the team helping shape the game and its community, Craig’s story is a reminder of just how far a simple game can take you, sometimes literally around the world.

Scott Foster

Scott Foster

Co-Founder of Munzee and Creator of SkyDrift

Team member since 2011 Little Elm, TX

Scott co-founded Munzee in 2011 and served as its VP of Technology for eight years. He built the API and website, led every part of development, and played a key role in bringing WallaBee to Freeze Tag.

Today he leads development on SkyDrift, which he created with Rob. He is a self-proclaimed “vibe coder” and uses AI in nearly everything he builds, including the website you’re reading right now.

Away from work, Scott is usually off having fun with his family, whether that’s exploring Japan or floating down a river. When the house finally quiets down, you’ll find him playing video games, anything from Final Fantasy to Counter-Strike.

Timothy Larsen

Timothy Larsen

Production and Shipping

Team member since 2025 Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA

A Munzee player since 2011, Tim is having fun being a part of the team that brings Munzee to the world. Still enjoying playing the game, Tim is excited to see where Munzee goes next and being a part of making that happen.

Tim is coordinating, manufacturing, and shipping out game pieces and QR code stickers to players all over the world on a daily basis. Tim most enjoys interacting with players at Munzee events, hearing their feedback and helping them interact with Munzee in new and better ways.

Tim has lived and worked in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota his entire life, and lives with his wife Krista, spending much of his time with his adult children and his grandson.
